Chadstone Chiropractic is at 1681 Dandenong Rd, Oakleigh East, about 3 km from Chadstone Shopping Centre. If you are thinking about a first visit, this page explains who you will see, what happens at the appointment and how to book.

Who you will see

The practice traces back to The Chadstone Clinic, founded in the mid-1970s. Dr Joshua Free has been principal chiropractor since 2004, working alongside Dr Nadia Hamdan and Dr Pieter Hart. All three are registered chiropractors and members of the Gonstead Chiropractic Society (Australia). You can check any chiropractor's registration on the Ahpra public register at ahpra.gov.au.

What a first visit involves

We use the Gonstead system, which starts with an assessment before anything is adjusted. It has seven steps: history, visualisation, instrumentation, static palpation, motion palpation, neurological and orthopaedic tests, and radiographic analysis. Onsite digital X-rays are usually taken during the first consultation, where clinically appropriate.

The principle behind the system is "find it, fix it, leave it alone." The aim is to find what is there, address it, and avoid booking visits that aren't clinically necessary. Results vary from person to person and can't be guaranteed. If chiropractic care isn't appropriate, or something is outside our scope, we will say so and refer you on.

If you have any previous spinal X-rays or scans, even older ones, bring them along.

Before you book

No referral is needed to book a first appointment. If you have a GP chronic condition management plan, you are welcome to bring it. If you have sudden or severe symptoms, new numbness or weakness, difficulty controlling your bladder or bowels, or pain after a significant fall or accident, see your GP or go to an emergency department first.

Opening hours, booking and health funds

We are open Monday to Saturday, with early-morning and evening appointments. Call (03) 9568 0155 or book an appointment.

HICAPS is available on site, so you can claim your health fund rebate at the time of your visit. Rebates differ depending on which of our chiropractors you see, so please mention your fund when you book and reception will connect you with the right practitioner.
